Once more around

& around:

 

leaves a tapestry

of gold

 

sky a grey horizon.

 

Ploughed fields sigh

eased from summer

 

burden.

 

There’s a softness

in the air

 

rain caresses

dried earth

 

& for a moment

autumn’s past

 

returns to haunt

me.
