Valentine Poem

(Written 14 February 2011)I walked with you in winteras willow shed her hair,we talked and touched with tender sighsswapped secrets we both shared, you led me to the waterwhere taut ripples tumble cleargave your strength to mewatched me stumble freepledged your honesty. Now the willow’s deftly ladenbrushed with buds of burning greenand long winter’s deadness ripensspread on banks of new beginning, here brown river sings her stillnessas you turn to walk away, but you’re in my heartalways stay a partof every bright new day.
