Heart

Your heart, that bleebing blip I watchedin red womb wall, your heartis broken. A lifefinely played on stageof love, your heartthat flipped & flew awaylanded on the sleeveof some tall stranger. Your heart, that once was lockedin mine is beatingout of time I, motherto all beasts carer ofthe weak can’t reach outacross the sea hold youin your sleep & fix this. I struggledto be strong I shoutedto be heard I birthed youin a world where your voicecould grow & your lifewould be more than mine: bright & safe& open. How is itthat we’re here? After fortyyears a mother& her child starvingin a world opulentwith choices.
