Autumn song

I was caught up

by the wind

an autumn leaf

crisp, golden.

I was hijacked

by your tears

my heart held

to ransom;

for a moment

we danced a song

the melody unclear

the phrasing

dissonant.

I’m counting back

the years

vignette cinema clear

wide pan, exotic.

I’m flying through

this storm

buffeted by

creation

love an unknown game

that other’s play.

The zeitgeist

calls my name

the trees answer.
