St Maxime

I am gone from here

a phantom of the dream:

sun chases night fear

a flicker in a passing breeze.

The hills roll on tight curled

to mountain. Blood & bone

mark territory in this polished

‘now’.

Hot air, sunshine: beyond the stars

a trillion firmaments of mystery

& we like children at the fairground

hurtle onwards.

Cruise liners stoke out to lip

of cupped horizon: earth drops

touches void of interstellar vacuum

inhale: exhale: pause & pause again

each mesmerizing moment

a new beginning.

We did not choose

Sunrise a pink glow

birds shout, cacophony.

Dreams disappear

like fairy tales,

we are nomads

searching for shelter

the pool flickers

insects buzz & hum

we journey to

we journey from

footsteps down the road

we did not choose,

haunt us.

This earth hides our stories

chaos reigns again

it leaves us empty

you gift me ‘this’

you gift me ‘that’

you demand

everything.

Victoria Mosley
Were we greater then?

It’s raining in my head

4am tunes that turn

to dust in morning light:

we were greater then

more than less

my silky skin hid

the scars I bore.

Are we wiser now?

Our faces stretched ‘n worn

we’ve travelled every path

a panoply of mystic routes

to a heaven we’ll never find.

We were bolder then

before we dived inside

this wild rip tide of destiny.

It’s raining in my head

4am tunes that vanish

with the dawn:

my hands were tied

by expectations spun

with golden rings

till the children tumbled

from the stars to love me.

Life became an

pilgrim’s  road of

needing, wanting, waiting

but it’s raining in my head

4am tunes that fade

with morning light.

A spring wind’s blown

your name away

I’ve left you lost

in city lights

while I fly swan - winged

in a soaring sky

that calls me by my last name.
