 Light breaksabove chimney potsblue light behind grey Fireworks cracked at midnightas if fending off invaders& the house parties swungalong the street love unfolding over kisses& moonlight. Even the gulls are quietpuppy chews her tail& out at sea waves break thoughtlessly. I’m drowning for sleepmy eyes gritty, my mind ongo slow, this no man’s day where memory lingers& wishes might come true.
